Samsung Unveils Crazy Rugged Galaxy Xcover 2 with Waterproof Camera

By : Dhie KeaZan's
You know how Samsung likes to get their phones into every niche of the planet? Well, that's probably why they just unveiled their Galaxy Xcover 2, a rugged smartphone made for extreme conditions. How extreme? I'm talking about a phone that can be submerged underwater for a full 30 minutes! Not only that, it can even take photos underwater! The Xcover 2 is also dust / sand / drop-proof.
Another great feature for those with extreme jobs is the "enhanced GPS + GLONASS" built into the phone, which "shortens satellite signal detection by 20% and tracks your location more accurately." It's got a pretty standard 1,700 mAh battery, although Samsung calls it "massive."
Aside from its rugged charms, the phone doesn't have a whole lot going for it. Tech specs are lackluster, including:
  • 4" WVGA Display
  • 1GHz dual-core processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 5MP Camera
  • Android 4.1
It's also not a very light or sleek device, coming in at 130.5 x 67.7 x 12 mm and weighing 148.5 grams.
No word on price or release date but we may know more at MWC next month.

Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for Galaxy S2: Download It Here!

By : Dhie KeaZan's
Samsung has begun distributing the Android 4.1.2 update OTA across the globe for a little while now. But if you haven't received your update and are getting a little impatient, you can install it right now using the Flash program "Odin," which is not at all difficult to use.
To snag Android 4.1.2 on your Galaxy S2, first you'll need to install Odin and Samsung's stock ROM. Sammobile offers both as downloads, but because it can be painfully slow to download them from their site, we're offering them to you on our servers as well. Here you can download Samsung's stock ROM, and here you can download Odin. Obligatory warning: AndroidPIT cannot be held responsible if you follow our instructions incorrectly and end up damaging your phone.

Here's How to Install The Update on Your Galaxy S2:

1. Download Odin and the firmware on your PC (links above) and extract the files, placing them in the folder of your choice.
2. Secure your smartphone with Ultimate Backup because you are going to need to return your phone to factory settings and clear all caches. Theoretically, it's possible to install the update without wiping your device, but there's risk that your phone then won't run smoothly.
3. Turn off your device. Then start it in recovery mode by holding the volume up, home button and power button simultaneously until a small green Android appears with a menu above him.
4. Use the volume buttons to choose "whip data / factory reset" and select it with the power button. Scroll down to "yes" using the volume button and select it with the power button again. Then repeat the procedure with "wipe cache partition."
5. Choose "reboot system now" using the power button.
6. Turn the phone off again.
7. Restart phone in download mode (home + power + volume down).
8. Start Odin on your computer
9. 10. Click PDA and add the unzipped firmware code: I9100XWLS8_I9100XXLS8_I9100FOPLS3_HOME.tar.md5 to PDA
Leave everything else unchanged and make sure that the "repartition" box is not checked.
10. Connect your Galaxy S2 to your PC via USB cable. In the top left of Odin, you should now see a box which reads 0:COM 12 (It may also read a different number besides 12).
11.Click "start" and wait until the green "PASS!" button appears. Wait until your Galaxy S2 has restarted before you disconnect it.
12. THAT'S IT!
If your phone gets stuck during the boot process, do not panic! This often happens during the Flash process. Try pressing the power button down until the Galaxy S2 turns off, then repeat steps 2 through 4..

Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100) Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update Arrives

By : Dhie KeaZan's
The international version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 (model number GT-I9100) still has some life left in its legs just yet, with Samsung introducing the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update that should keep owners and fans of the handset more than happy. After all, it has been a pretty good servant ever since it was launched a couple of years back to much fanfare, and has stood pretty well on its own, setting some sales records back in its heydays.

Basically, if you happen to own the unlocked international version of the Galaxy S2 and reside in Spain, you ought to have begun to receive the update by now, so you would do well to check it out if you haven’t yet done so already.
The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S2 will be available via two routes - either Over-The-Air (OTA), or through the Samsung's Kies software. Needless to say, you will find as though the Galaxy S2 has received a new lease of life with the latest Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update, including a user interface that is far closer to the Galaxy S3 than ever before since the new Nature UX will be part of the OTA download.
Other goodies that you can hope to enjoy with the latest Jelly Bean update include features such as Direct Call, Smart Stay, a pop-up floating video player that comes in handy, improved TouchWiz widgets, Project Butter and Google Now among others.
Are you stoked yet? Whoever has lost hope in the fact that good things come to those who wait might just end up with a smile on their faces this time around.
